Dr. Joyce Wangari Ngugi is a Consultant Clinical & Counseling Psychologist and Research Mentor with Gwira Foundation. She is the Lead Research Mentor at Eider Africa, Kenya and a Research Steward at AuthorAID, UK.
She has 17 years’ experience in research and psychology. She researches and mentors in the specialties of mental health and wellbeing for researchers, bioethics, research mentorship, and mixed methods. She is adept in designing, implementing and evaluating Mental Health and Psycho Social Support (MHPSS) programs, including disability and mental health nexus.
She is also a Sign Language Consultant and Deaf Studies expert. She is a global award winner at the APA Convention 2018, and a TED Talk laureate on Humor for Resilience in June 2020.
